Hanxiao Expressway: Further growth could be seen as Airport Northern Extension open to Traffic
On 18th November 2011, the Northern Airport Connection as a part of Hanxiao Expressway, has fully commenced operation. Since then, a fast and convenient access between Wuhan urban and Tian-He Airport has been created. After the full operation of Northern Airport Connection, vehicles from northern Wuhan as well as northwestern Hubei don’t have to make round of city center, but could directly head to Tian-He Airport via Hanxiao Expressway and Northern Airport Connection with much less time consuming. Therefore, traffic volumes of Hanxiao Expressway are expected to enjoy a sustainable growth in future.  Additionally, the Northern Airport Expressway (length:4.968 km), which is an important project in local area aiming to improve traffic between Wuhan urban and Tian-He Aiport, has legally received approval from Hubei Provincial Municipal Government for toll collection.

Shantou Bay Bridge: Toll-by-weight policy carried out since late October
According to the approval documents by Guangdong Provincial Government, the Eastern Area of Guangdong Province, where Shantou, Huizhou and other 8 cities are included, would start to implement toll-by-weight policy since 20th October this year. One of our Associates, which is the Shantou Bay Bridge, would be applied to that policy as a result. Under the toll-by-weight policy, the current mechanism of toll collection which is on the basis of different vehicle categories would not change, but would have extra charge on trucks that are overloaded (30% or more than its maximum capacity) as a penalty. By doing this, numbers of overloaded trucks will be greatly reduced which in turn could ensure public safety as less traffic accident will take place.  According to results in Northern Area of Guangdong Province where toll-by-weight policy has been carried out at the end of 2009, expressways involved maintain sustainable growth in toll revenue.
